Artists Maxim Schmidt and Kristin Cassidy will supply you with materials to plant your own mental garden with paper and whatever bits and bobs you are inspired to bring with you. Founded in 1945, Vox Records brought American listeners performers and conductors better known in their native Austria and Germany (Horenstein, Brendel — famous interpreters of Beethoven’s works). Work with artist and curator Martha Willette Lewis on creating your own gorgeous signage to say how you really feel about issues of the day.
Pen aficionados will convene at the Institute Library — are you in? Jonathan Weinberg, artist and curator of the Maurice Sendak Foundation, will lead a discussion and demonstration of the wonders of fountain pens for writing and drawing. If you share the fountain pen addiction, you are welcome to bring some of your own favorites. For those new to the world of pen collecting, there will be plenty of advice on how to get started and the opportunity to try out new and old pens. All are welcome!
