    Sacred Forest is curated by Martha Willette Lewis and is co-produced by The Gallery Upstairs at The Institute Library and Trinity on the Green, as part of the 2025 Arts & Ideas Festival. In this evening’s panel discussion, Prof. Bloomer (CCSU), will engage in dialogue with curators Martha Lewis and Maxim Schmidt on the subject of Connecticut’s forests — their significance in our state’s history and culture, and issues of stewardship now and in the future.

    Spend an evening enjoying thoughtful calm at one of our tables: create your own message of love. To send to anyone. Everyone needs to be appreciated, plain and simple — or elaborate and baroque! The curators of The Gallery Upstairs, Martha Willette Lewis and Maxim Schmidt, invite you to sit down and create a special message. Supplies (paper, envelopes, stamps) provided, but feel free to bring your own. Show the postal service some love, make someone smile, return a kindness with a handmade note, share your appreciation & affection.

    A craftivism knit-in to work on Melt-The-Ice Hats offered by The Gallery Upstairs at The Institute Library. Free and open to the public, but donations are happily accepted and will go toward the gallery and future events. We will have snacks, warm drinks and offer a cozy environment to gather, chat and knit. *Please note: This is not a class, and we will not be selling supplies.
