SUMMARY:Storytelling Workshop
DESCRIPTION:The Institute Library Story Sharing Group is gearing up for its tenth annual workshop series and Tellabration performance.  Experienced tellers and newbies are invited to join us. Here is the registration link.\nWe should point out\, however\, that there are no real newbies in storytelling.  Everyone tells stories all the time – when we update the boss on our latest project\, tell our partner about our day\, or tell our kids about the weird thing we did back in middle school.  All we do in the story sharing group is make the process a bit more deliberate. \nWe begin with four workshops\, during which each participant chooses a story and prepares it for public telling\, with the help of feedback from the other participants. Stories may be of any genre; most of the stories we hear come from the tellers’ own lives\, but if you want to share your version of Jack and the Beanstalk that’s fine.  Those who choose to do so will tell their stories at a public performance\, a “Tellabration”\, which is one of many Tellabration sites across Connecticut every Fall. \nThe workshops will be from 7-9 P.M. on four Thursdays\, September 28 and October 5\, 12\, and 19.  Workshops will be held at the Library.  Participants should be fully vaccinated against Covid. \nThe Tellabration will be at 7:30 P.M. on October 26.  In recent years we have had too many tellers to fit into one evening.  if that happens this year there will also be a performance on October 25. The performance(s) will be at the Library. \nWe are asking workshop participants who can afford it to make a donation to the Institute Library of $30 for Library members and $45 for non-members.  This covers all four workshops plus the Tellabration.  If this is a hardship\, join us anyway. We do not want to exclude anyone. \nHere is the registration link again.\nYou only need to register once for the four workshops and the Tellabration.
