The Membership Committee of the Young Men's Institute Library cordially invites women and men of all ages, interests, and social, economic, and educational backgrounds to apply for membership in our unique organization.
Membership in the Institute Library comes with the following privileges:
- use of the Institute's quiet rooms for reading and study
- access to historical Institute archives and local reference materials dating from the early 19th century
- helpful and personal service from our friendly staff of librarians
- borrowing privileges from our up-to-date circulating library of 30,000 volumes, with no late fees
- a mailing service, whereby patrons may request books to be sent to them anywhere in the country at a special low-cost mailing rate
- two hours of free parking at the Crown Street and Temple Street garages when visiting the Library
- invitations to Institute events
As the Institute has been generously endowed by appreciative members over the years, the cost of membership is nominal, at $25 per year.
To apply, please visit the Library or print, complete, and mail the .pdf form here with your $25 membership (payable by check or money order). If for any reason your application is declined, you will not be charged.
