Lucy Gellman @ Zafra
A native Detroiter and happily lapsed art historian, Lucy Gellman is a reporter and producer for the New Haven Independent and WNHH-LP (103.5 FM New Haven), where she hosts a weekly podcast about food and its discontents. Prior to joining the Independent full time in 2015, she served as the Florence B. Selden Fellow at the Yale University Art Gallery, where she co-curated Vida y Drama de México: Prints from the Monroe E. Price and Aimée Brown Price Collection.
Lucy earned her BA at Washington University in St. Louis and her MA at the Courtauld Institute of Art in London, spending a year as a Fulbright Fellow in France in between. Her writing and photography have appeared in I Love New Haven, Art New England, The Arts Paper, Print Quarterly, Journal of the Print World, and the Yale University Art Gallery Bulletin. When she’s not writing or cooking, she’s trying to figure out how not to be painfully awkward.
